Project Description

As National Coordinator, the EL Fellow will be responsible for supporting the other EL Fellows (up to nine) in the field with their projects (teaching ideas, techniques, material recommendations, website suggestions and ideas/materials for teacher training). The Coordinator will maintain weekly contact with the EL Fellows through phone calls, emails, and the yahoo listserv. The Coordinator will also engage in site visits. During the site visits, the Coordinator will observe university classes and provide feedback to the EL Fellows, meet with heads and staff members of the English/ELT departments to ensure that EL Fellow receive adequate logistical and other support from their universities. During these visits, the Coordinator may also be asked to conduct seminars for teachers at the EL Fellow host institutions, providing them with the latest information on a variety of programs that are supported by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The Coordinator will be responsible for collecting, editing, and forwarding the weekly highlights of EL Fellow activities to the English Language Officer (ELO) at the US Embassy.
