Project Description
Universitas Indonesia (UI) will again host the EL Fellow Coordinator for Indonesia. The Language Centre at UI provides quality language training programs for the university staff and students as well as the general public. The EL Fellow is needed to assist in upgrading, monitoring, and evaluating the language instruction and teacher training programs. The EL Fellow will work under the Head of the Language Centre with the following objectives: to upgrade teaching skills in English of non-English Department instructors; to monitor and evaluate the results of the training program; to refine training modules; to design and implement workshops to train the university staff; to design and implement projects in classroom research; to assist in management of Centre's assessment and development programs; and to teach pre-departure English course for scholarship recipients. In addition to the work at UI, the EL Fellow Coordinator will work closely with the RELO to coordinate and manage the activities and projects of the other EL Fellows posted in Indonesia and travel to their sites to clarify policies for their host institution counterparts.
Project Objectives
To enable the Language Centre at UI to improve and sustain its teacher training program; to develop new programs which the Centre would like to implement; to refine the monitoring and evaluation of the Centre's programs; to train the staff to conduct classroom research; and to improve the overall quality of services at the Language Centre
About the Host Institution
Program Pelayanan Bahasa FIBUI (PPB-FIBUI) is the Language Centre in the Faculty of Humanities at UI. It was established in 1988 and has rapidly developed and expanded to provide quality language training for its clients and employees.
