Project Description
This institution trains university-level instructors from all over India in both pre-service orientation programs and refresher courses. The EL Fellow will revise and implement the English language training component for the general orientation program and revise and implement the specific pedagogical training component for the English instructors’ refresher courses. The Academic Staff College (ACS) of Lucknow University intends to pilot these courses and then make them available to 52 other Staff Colleges throughout the country. In addition, the Fellow will work closely with the regional branch of the Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages (CIEFL) in Lucknow which offers extensive teacher training for both university and school level teachers of English from the region. ACS and CIEFL often collaborate on joint training efforts and the EL Fellow will be a key player in designing and implementing these training programs as well. The Fellow will also provide training for English teachers from local secondary schools.
