Project Description
The Department of English at the Higher Institute of Human Sciences of Tunis seeks to host an EL Fellow to support the teaching of English language skills within its major program, the B.A. in English. The EL Fellow will teach (12 hours/week) pronunciation and oral skills principally within the General English program for first and second year students majoring in English. The Fellow will participate in the development of teaching and testing materials with the rest of the teaching team and will take part in administering the end of semester oral exams. The Fellow will mentor the teachers of one course (e.g. teachers of Oral Expression) in collaboration with the program coordinator. The mentoring may focus on specific teaching skills, one-on-one tutoring in technology-related skills, scaffolding for the preparation of teaching materials, and informal observation/advising as needed. The Fellow will launch a new students' magazine, assist with the writing of course descriptions and advising on content specifications of innovative courses, organizing workshops, study days, etc. The Fellow should know French or Arabic.
