Project Description
The Department of English at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of Sfax seeks to host an EL Fellow to support the teaching of English language skills within its two major programs: the B.A. in General English and the B.A in Business English. The Fellow will teach (12 hours/week) pronunciation and communication skills principally within the Business English program. The Fellow will also participate in the development of teaching and testing materials with the rest of the teaching team and will take part in administering the end of semester oral exams. The Fellow will mentor the teachers of one course (e.g. teachers of Oral Expression) in collaboration with the program coordinator. The mentoring may focus on specific teaching skills, one-on-one tutoring in technology-related skills, scaffolding for the preparation of teaching materials, and informal observation/advising as needed. The Fellow will be working closely with the course coordinator in ensuring the smooth implementation of the new curriculum for the BA in English. This involves the writing of course descriptions and advising on content specifications of innovative courses, organizing workshops, and study days.  The Fellow should know French or Arabic.
