Project Description
The EL Fellow will work in the ELT department of Mugla University in southern Turkey. The Fellow will teach no more than four preps per semester (4 different courses) to total no more than 20 contact hours/week. The Fellow will teach four skills courses as well as pre-service teacher training courses. Additional responsibilities may include facilitating teacher training seminars for in-service teachers in the department and the school of Foreign Languages. Areas of need are materials and curriculum development, website contributions, testing, and CALL. While the EL Fellow will no longer be teaching in the Access course, s/he will consult with and support the teachers of the English ACCESS micro-scholarship program in the area. The ACCESS program is one in which non-elite secondary school students are provided free English Language lessons outside their regularly scheduled school timetable. One of the program's goals is to expose student to American style education and culture.
