Project Description
The EL Fellow will be based at Gaziantep University, but will also make regular visits to Mustafa Kemal University in Trakya to teach some classes at that institution. MKU has a guest house at which the Fellow will stay when s/he is in town, but the main housing will be in Gaziantep. At Gaziantep University, the Fellow will work in the English Language and Literature Department. The Fellow will teach no more than three preps per semester (3 different courses) to total no more than 12 contact hours per week for the duration of the 10-month grant. The department seeks assistance with American Literature, Short Story and Readings in American Literature. Having an experienced American in those areas of expertise will greatly boost their program. At Mustafa Kemal University, similar experience is requested: teaching literature, poetry, drama, novel appreciation, or short story. Additional responsibilities may include facilitating teacher training seminars for in-service teachers at both universities.
