Host Institution Herzen Petersburg State Pedagogical University, The Academy of Pedagogical Mastery Project Description
The EL Fellow will be responsible for ELT teacher training across the vast northwestern region of Russia, to support public affairs programming related to education and English teaching. The Fellow's primary institution will be Herzen St. Petersburg State Pedagogical University. The Fellow will work with instructors from various departments, especially on teaching American studies and integrating technology into the curriculum. The Fellow will also work closely with SPELTA (St. Petersburg English Language Teaching Association) and the St. Petersburg Bridges NGO, helping to organize conferences, seminars, and special projects. The Fellow will provide consultations and lead seminars at the Academy of Pedagogical Mastery, an in-service training center for EFL teachers of St. Petersburg, to develop skills in teaching young learners, testing and assessment. The Fellow will conduct a series of presentations at the American Center for general public on American life and institutions. Outreach training activities will be conducted in Pskov, Cherepovets, Vologda, Kaliningrad, Murmansk, Petrozavodsk, Velikiy Novgorod, and Arkhangelsk, in coordination with the U.S. consulate in Saint Petersburg, Ministry of Education educational training centers, and teachers' associations. The Fellow will also assist Moscow ELO by participating in post-sponsored Summer Institute of English TEFL Training and American Studies Institutes, support of ECA USG funded exchange program alumni. The Fellow will teach at the Academy of Pedagogical Mastery, at Herzen University, at American Center, and will work for SPELTA . The Fellow will have 2 outreach trips every month. |
