In between weekend workshops, the Fellow will carry out school visits including observing, critiquing and providing teaching materials in order to monitor the development of the teachers who participate in the workshops and to provide follow-up and on-going assistance. The Fellow will also invite senior teachers, heads of English departments and regional English teaching inspectors to the workshops in order to raise their awareness of cutting-edge teaching methodologies with the goal of encouraging them to use these methodologies more extensively with EFL students they mentor during their practicum sessions, thus creating a multiplier effect. Additionally, the Fellow will work with the local teacher-training centers and school inspectorates in Brasov and Oradea on materials development and the use of alternative student books and assessment techniques. The Fellow will also conduct activities at the new American Corners in Baia Mare and Bacau, which are two cities close to Oradea and Brasov. |
