Project Description
The EL Fellow will play a central role in advancing the language improvement initiative "Global Education Program" at Tartu University (UT) and implementing the training of the UT lecturers who are/will be teaching courses in English. The Fellow will conduct language teaching to UT Faculty involved with or preparing to offer their courses in English. This will include assessing the language level of training participants and conducting one-on-one interviews with participants. The Fellow will teach classes for UT faculty which will focus on developing essential skills for delivering lectures in English, planning and writing English course materials handouts and tests, discussing intercultural issues and preparing participants to teach students from diverse backgrounds who have different learning styles. The Fellow will conduct individual class visits to attend and evaluate lectures taught in English by course participants. The Fellow will teach classes for university administrators with the aim of increasing participants` ability to use the English language for everyday advising and international relations. The Fellow will provide curricula design support. The objective is to provide assistance and advice to Program Directors, who are responsible for content and quality assurance of semester and full time programs designed for international students. The curricula assessment program will develop knowledge and skills in educational and didactic aspects of curriculum development.
