Host Institution Diplomatic Academy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Project Description
The EL Fellow will work at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and at the Albanian Parliament. At the Diplomatic Academy, the Fellow will revise and improve the course entitled Media and Communications that aims to provide Albanian diplomats with English language skills that pertain to diplomacy; teach and co-teach sessions of the Media and Communication course as well as sessions of other courses that require advanced English language skills for diplomats; provide sessions on American society and culture to practicing as well as future diplomats; and help develop writing and research skills programs for employees in the Information Department at the Albanian Parliament. The Fellow will also conduct a language needs analysis of key staff members of Parliament to identify their levels and the particular English language skills they would need in their work; develop and teach courses to sections of beginner, intermediate and advanced level staff members of the Albanian Parliament; and give specialized courses that focus on the development of writing skills (e.g. how to draft different kinds of official documents, political speeches and reports, press releases etc.) to library researchers and advisers to parliamentary commissions. |
