Host Institution IAIN Sumatra Utara Project Description
The EL Fellow will be involved in three key activities. The Fellow will: design and implement a learning center at the institution that will serve north Sumatra; take part in training English Lecturers who teach freshman students; help the IAIN Curriculum Development Team to evaluate and devise new curriculum/syllabi of the English instructions; teach special English classes to IAIN Management (rectors, etc); assist with extra curricular activities such as English clubs, debates, speech contests; conduct outreach for PAS to the tsunami stricken area in Aceh, primarily the UIN Aceh (a sister tertiary Islamic institution at which many of the lecturers from IAIN Medan go to lecture once or twice a week).
