The EL Fellow will be hosted by the Academy of Languages in Shymkent. Throughout the year the EL Fellow will teach a variety of skills courses to undergraduate students in the Faculty of English Language Teaching. As such, the Fellow will indirectly be teaching methodology by serving as a model for pre-service teachers. He/she will also work closely with staff at the university to encourage an observation and peer feedback model that will serve all active instructors. He/she will also work with the Teachers of English of Shymkent (TESH) Association, which is a very active branch of the National Association of Teachers of English of Kazakhstan. The EL Fellow will be involved in the Teacher-Trainer Village Project, which has been constantly gaining momentum. He/she is expected to travel throughout the South-Kazakhstan Oblast conducting workshops and consultations. Post will support any special initiative consistent with the ELFs interests, posts goals, and Kazakhstani educational po licy.
