Host Institution NGO Lingua Project Description
The EL Fellow will be involved in teacher training at the Kyrgyz Academy of Education for public school and university teachers in Bishkek and also at the regional level in the Talas and Issyk-Kul oblasts. The Fellow will also act as a mentor for the distance learning courses on methodology. The Fellow will assist in strengthening teacher training capacity through building networking schemes of agencies involved in teacher training process (Lingua, Academy, Peace Corps, and other EL Fellows). The Fellow will be based in Bishkek at Lingua English Language School. His/her responsibilities will include conducting seminars; training EFL teachers in Karakol and Talas; providing mentorship for acting trainers in Bishkek and Osh; co-training with local trainers in Bishkek (University workshops, seminars, etc.); participating in teachers’ professional development events (Association Conferences, Lingua’s methodological seminars); providing consulting for the participants of the Trainer-in Training methodological programs; and assisting local trainers and the Academy of Education in designing syllabi for the new methodological programs. |
