Project Description
The EL Fellow will work with the Departments of English at both the Instituto Superior de Lenguas (ISL) at the National University of Asuncion and the Instituto Superior de Educacion (ISE).  At the ISL, the Fellow will be responsible for observing and assessing classes, becoming familiar with the current English teaching curriculum and proposing changes as needed, teaching specialized methodology courses for the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language and Practical Exercises to second, third and fourth year students, and designing training sessions for teachers and conducting workshops for in-service teachers.  At the ISE, the Fellow will teach future English teachers.  The Fellow will be responsible for teaching Linguistics and methodology courses for Teaching English as a Foreign Language, conducting workshops designed for in-service teachers, and evaluating and advising on pedagogical methods.  The Fellow will work 40 hours per week, 20 hours with each institution.
